That had to be the worst spinning class I’ve ever had and it had nothing to do with my performance:
* How can I concentrate on my heavy breathing if the guy next to me is coughing the whole time? If you’re sick, don’t come to the gym!
* I’m a 31 year old black male from the city. Classic 80’s rock isn’t that motivating to me. It doesn’t have to be current but it should have more energy and less guitar.
* The equipment is well below par. LA Fitness, it’s time to put some money into new bikes and I don’t want to hear that rate hike talk.
* The instructor felt like she was more there with us than inspiring us. Make me feel like I want to do the exercise but not because you told me to!
OK, I feel better. Rant over.
Showed up at the gym expecting my spinning class only to find out it was replaced with zumba. So I hit the treadmill.
Monday night boxing at the gym
What do you do when you running partner is injured while your on the way to meet him? Go to the nearest gym and guess what? A spinning class was going on so I went. Great class and the instructor was full of excitement.
Spinning. Didn’t want to but it’s a must.
Monday Night Fights – Boxing. I have a tight shoulder musscle at the moment but it is worth it.
Had some (very) light treadmill work and elliptical. Come back is going strong though.
This one is coming in at the wire for the week.
Just a note, I’ve been spending a lot more time in the gym lately mainly due to terrible weather we’ve been having and partly because of the wealth of exercises that can be done there.
I would love to be one of those people that can workout at home and be productive but that just isn’t me. I need the others around me working to that similar goal to motivate me to keep going. I may not speak to them directly but it does help to have that community spirit of motivation. It must come from the runners spirit in me.
I just got a delivery from the mailman. I’ve decided to take up a circuit boxing class at my gym. The first day was tough. Lots of running, which I’m already used to, and lots of boxing.
If you’ve never hit a punching bag for an extended period of time I recommend you do. It’s a great physical workout as well as a great way reliever of stress.
